There is not doubt that this year the Premiership is having one of the most tied battles for the top position. Chelsea leads after 11 matches, but Arsenal and Manchester are trying to keep on track of the blues. This sunday one match could give another direction to the English Premier League, after Chelsea – Manchester United clash, that could define new horizons.

Only two points is the difference between the contenders. Both teams had relative good results during week in UEFA Champions League, and both are practically qualified to the next round in that european competition. But now the focus is another: to fight for the first place of the Premier.

Fixtures La Liga: november 07 and 08, 2009

Comes the weekend and Spain smells derby. The derby Atletico Madrid – Real Madrid will be the leading party of the week. The Quique Sanchez Flores in obvious improvement, try to catch up and move closer to European positions with a win over the meringue. Pellegrini’s team jump to the Vicente Calderon with the conviction of taking a positive result, as has been customary in recent years.

Also plays Barcelona vs. Mallorca at Camp Nou. It was not a good week for the Catalans after the draw with Osasuna in Pamplona and the tie 0 – 0 against Rubin Kazan in Russia. A win against the Balearics and the mood will surely be much improved in the catalan city.

Two important matches close the week. In the Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium the Sevilla will face Villarreal, who has found door in recent games and look out the positions of danger, but the Andalusians in a state of grace are not the best match for pick flight. The Valencia hosts Zaragoza, which beforehand was supposed to be a triumph of the local team, but given the recent results (not keeping victories at latest moments) seem not quite sure.

UEFA Champions League: Fixtures november 03 2009

November 3, 2009 by Denis González

Manchester United – CSKA Moscow: The Ferguson’s boys could achieve their pass to the next instance of the Champions League with a victory. CSKA will play at Old Trafford with new coach on the bench, after Juande Ramos layoff.

Atletico Madrid – Chelsea FC: The Spaniards need the victory to keep the hope of getting to next round of the competition. Quique Sánchez Flores will debut in Champions with Atletico this year, after taking care of the head coach position last week.

AC Milan – Real Madrid: Perhaps the most expected match of the journey. The rossoneri team surprised the last match winning at the Bernabeu 3 – 2 with a great second half. But the merengues will love to win at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, in order to get ahead in their group, but also for a delicious revenge.

Maccabi Haifa – Juventus: The italian need the victory to keep on track of Girondis Bordeaux. The french are the leader after three matches. Maccabi Haifa is in the worst situation, they have not gotten any points yet, and if they don not win against Juve, will be eliminated.

Besiktas – Wolfsburg: The Besiktas have only one point after the first three fixtures, so they need the win at any price. The Wolfsburg, if they win, will be near the qualification to next round.

Olympique Marseille – FC Zürich: The french team need the victory in order to keep the hope of advancing to next round. With the three points the could stay on track of Real Madrid and Milan, and even reach one of them if they lose. Zürich is in the same situation, but they will play away from home, and that could be something very hard to defeat.

Apoel Nicosia – FC Porto: The portuguese team has the opportunity to achieve their pass with a victory. They have six points in their group, and with three more they would get an eight points advantage with two match remaining.
